Neuro is built to need as little of your data as possible. Here's exactly what that means in practice.
Neuro ("the app") is developed by L Squared ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what information the app handles, where it lives, and what control you have over it. The short version: there are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and almost nothing about you ever leaves your device.
Neuro does not require — and does not have a mechanism for — any of the following:
All of your progress — your brain's health, level, streak, coins, badges, and activity history — is stored locally on your device using Apple's on-device storage frameworks. Nothing is transmitted to us by default.
If you choose to enable iCloud sync (where available), your progress syncs only between your own devices via your own private iCloud account. We never have access to that data — Apple's iCloud infrastructure handles the transfer, and L Squared's servers are never in that path (we don't operate any servers that store your personal progress at all).
Neuro offers an optional feature that can detect when you've spent an extended session scrolling on your device, using Apple's Family Controls / Screen Time framework, purely to gently reduce your brain's health as a nudge. This requires your explicit permission through Apple's own system authorization prompt.
If granted, this detection happens entirely on-device. Neuro never receives, stores, or transmits your raw browsing history, which apps you've used, or any other detail about your device activity — only a signal of "usage has crossed a time threshold today" is used, and it stays local to your device.
The only network calls Neuro makes are unauthenticated, read-only requests to a public content repository, used to occasionally refresh quiz questions, stories, trivia facts, and daily quests without needing an app update. These requests never include any personal information — they're the same request for every installation of the app, and nothing about you or your device is sent along with them.
Neuro offers optional, entirely non-essential in-app coin purchases, processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. L Squared never sees, stores, or has access to your payment details — that relationship is strictly between you and Apple.
From Neuro's Settings screen, you can export a copy of your local data at any time, or permanently delete it and reset the app to a fresh state. Both actions are immediate and entirely under your control.
Neuro does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect identity-linked personal information from anyone at all — there are no accounts and nothing to tie activity back to a specific person.
If this policy ever changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage checking back occasionally if you have concerns.
